One Shot: Last Kiss At The Cross Road

This is kind of different from my usual themes. I wanted to experiment with an anti heroine. After wiki-ing Marvel the idea just got stuck in my head. So after pondering about how to apply the theme in a romance story, I came up with this idea.

Feel free to tell me what you think guys…….

When a woman makes love, how can she not fall in love? Or maybe it should be called by what it actually is. Sex. Lust. Moments of burning passion so intense that it fills all my senses and shutters the very core of my being.

For me it goes beyond a few moments of uncontrollable desire, the need to complement an empty soul, a thirst that demands quenching for the arms that offers a promise of comfort and care. It was a crime committed by my heart who was yearning for affection and tenderness.

“Are you feelng better now?” He asked caressing my head. His warm embrace always has the soothing affect on me. The heart that opened up to receive my sorrow, the ear that patiently listens to my rant, the words that tries to bring up my spirit.

I nodded, “Thank you for always being there for me…. ”

One-Shot: Voice Of My Heart

I’m back…….

I know that I’ve promised a lot of things and haven’t seen them through. I used to work from home in a small town in Colombia. A very beautiful city, very laid back and relaxing, but the company decided that every staff should work from a central office, so I had to move to the capital and alone, because my kids stayed behind. So I travel back and forwards every weekend. Not to mention that as the Asian person at work, I’m  seen as the computer geek, so besides my actual job, I have to do the tech support stuff. Needless to say, I get home very bushed and tired.

I try to steal time during lunch break to update Putri and Smaradahana. Well, with a help from my friend who sits on his chair, takes his eyes off the novel he was reading, points his finger at me and says, “Write your chapter!”. But it has been slow with all the distractions. I bounced this idea off him, all he said was, “Interesting….”. Sigh! ~_~

In a sentimental mood, I write this story, experimenting with a short fiction in a first person POV as I brew up the next action-packed chapter of Putri.

This one-shot story I dedicate to you the one who inspires me and fills my days with smiles and swoons.  I don’t expect anything more than a hope that you hear this voice of my <3.

Ricochet Part 17

“Ahmed, don’t leave the country, okay?” Princess Latifa cried, “Are you going to leave your mother alone again?”

“Ma, it’s only an hour and a half by plane, besides, don’t you have another son and grandchildren there? I don’t see why you can’t hop on a plane once in a while to visit me and my brother.” Ahmed replied.

“Ahmed, why do you insist in rejecting Ratna? If you would only accept your engagement none of this would happen. What does that woman have that Ratna doesn’t? Look, Ratna is beautiful, she’s educated, well mannered, and if you get to know her, you can see that she has a great personality.” She tried to convince her son.

“Mama, please stop, okay? Enough already! I told you many times that I don’t like her, but you never understood. If you didn’t pull a trick on me and announce the engagement at your party. Ratna wouldn’t be that disappointed, and Mr. Sumantri wouldn’t dare to threaten me with my job. ” Ahmed exhaled, “Besides, I think it’s time for me to step away from under my father’s shadow and try to make it on my own. I’m tired that you and Papa treat me like an incompetent person, and that I would never achieve anything by myself.”

“This is all because of her, isn’t it? She put all these ideas in your head.” She accused.

“Why? Because I can’t think for myself?” His voice was ironic. “Is that how you see me?”

“Ahmed….” her voice was genuinely sad.

“Here is the updated report. Also this folder contains the opened projects that we have, and the status of each.” Ahmed explained to his father.

Mr. Omar looked through the folder, “very good.” He praised.

“Thank you, Pa.” Ahmed

“Ahmed, I want you to know, that I’ve been very hard on you all this time, because I want you to be a man who will make use of all his potentials. You’re my only son, it’s common that children from well off family slack off, and become irresponsible, depending themselves on their parents’ wealth. Maybe I’ve never told you this, but I am very proud of you.”

Ahmed looked at him in disbelief, his father’s tone was gentle and loving. “Thank you.”

“I’m sure you will have success and good luck in the future. You have the ability and presence to achieve what you set your mind to,” He got up from his chair and hugged his son warmly.

Ricochet Part 16

“He kicked you out? Your father?” Ronald didn’t believe her. “But why?”

“Hey, this is a girl’s heart to heart talk here, sweetheart. No boys allowed.” Winnie gave him the evil eye.

“Huh! I think you’re father got it all wrong! I mean I have daughters of my own, if some guy was circling around them, I would lock them in the house and throw away the key. Kicking her out of the house is like shouting, “Here, take my daughter for free!”, right?” Dodi gave his opinion.

“Mr. Dodi…. this is supposed to be between us girls!” Winnie protested again.

“Maybe you’re adopted.” Ronald said again.

Tia looked at him strangely, “Thanks for the encouragement, guys.”

“But seriously, from one dad to another, yours did not make the right decision, and what’s wrong with Mr. Ahmed? He’s rich, successful, handsome, and kind.” Dodi praised, “Besides, everybody in the company knows that the two of you have been flirting with each other for the past three years. That’s why when Madame Al Rashid announced that he was engaged with Miss Ratna we were all surprised.”

“What do you mean we have been flirting with each other for three years?” Tia asked. “Before he started dating me a few months ago, he was dating Daniyati, the previous HR Manager.”

“Yeah right….” Winnie laughed.

“No, I’m serious, he used to date Daniyati, he told me that they went out for three years…”

“Stop trying to make up stupid excuses to deny it. We already know anyway…. ” Winnie said, “The whole company has been whispering about it ever since you started working here.”

“Guys….” Tia paused when she heard her phone ring, “It’s my aunt, I need to take this call…”

Ricochet Part 15

“Is it true that Tia Chang came and visited you at your apartment this morning?” Princess Latifa asked.

“No, it’s not true,” Ahmed replied.

“Ratna saw you with her own eyes, she went to your apartment to bring you breakfast and she saw you and that woman coming out of your apartment.” She insisted.

“Well, it isn’t true that Tia came to visit me this morning, she stayed with me all night.”

“You horrible punk! How could you speak like that to your mother? Don’t you have any sense of decency?”

“You asked didn’t you?” He smirked.

“How could you do something like that, you’re already engaged, how can you spend the night with a woman other than your fiance?” She criticized.

“Yes, I am engaged, this morning I asked Tia to marry me.”

“Are you out of your mind? We’ve already announced your engagement with Ratna at the party. How can you treat her like that? Don’t you have any respect? Don’t you have any considerations towards her feelings? How do you think she would take it, seeing her fiance flirting around with another woman in front of her”

“Considerations? Are you going to talk about having considerations? I don’t remember any of you having considerations towards me when you suddenly announced my engagement to Ratna. An engagement that I never agreed to.” Ahmed refuted, “I don’t have any intentions to marry Ratna, not now, not ever. I don’t see her more than a friend. I think I’m more than old enough to make my own decisions about my life.”

“Ahmed, please come to your senses. How do you think it would look if only a few days after we made the announcement, you’re already going out with another woman. What would people think about our family?” She pleaded.

“Ma, maybe you should have thought about that before forcing me to go ahead with your plans.”
